Lake Tohopekaliga
Lake Tohopekaliga is the largest lake in central Florida. It covers 22,700 acres, spans 42 miles in circumference, and is 4 miles long. Lake Toho, located right in Kissimmee, is closely located to all the major theme parks. Disney Parks and the Universal Studios are within a 30 minute drive to the lake. Location
Central Florida, Lake Tohopekaliga or “Lake Toho” has long been known as one of Florida’s trophy largemouth bass fisheries. But in January of 2001 Lake Toho was actually put on the Map. During the B.A.S.S. Top 150 tournament held at Lake Toho, our Skeeter teammate Dean Rojas broke the trail’s all-time, one day record, with a five-fish limit of 45 pounds 2 ounces. So, the official lake records on Lake Toho, Captain Ed Chancey holds the one for the biggest bass. His catch weighed in at a whopping 16 pounds, 10 ounces. In addition, the world record for the largest woman-caught bass was also achieved at Lake Toho. It weighed 14 pounds and five ounces.

Lake Toho has a wide variety of fish types though largemouth bass might be its calling card, you’ll also find plenty of other kinds of fish in and around Lake Tohopekaliga. Which makes it well-known for its healthy and thriving populations of channel catfish, black crappie, spotted sunfish, redear sunfish, warmouth, chain pickerel, bluegill, and longnose gar.
